PWS already had a proprietary and improved system for mounting the buffer tube, and now they went and made it better with the Enhanced Buffer Tube MOD 2 and Ratchet-Lock Endplate & Castle Nut. The secure, new ratchet-lock system eliminates the need for semi-permanent staking to securely fasten the castle nut to the end plate. Lower end rifle manufacturers would often skip this step, timid home builders would avoid it, and half the time it would be done incorrectly, whereas this system allows for secure installation, as well allow for easy uninstallation when needed. The EBT MOD 2 Endplate/Castle Nut features:
- Ratchet-Lock design eliminates the need to stake the castle nut (easy to remove)
- Central QD mount built into the Endplate
